Tinted Moisturizer vs. Foundation

Monday, September 9, 2013 12:00:04 PM America/New_York

Q: What's the difference between tinted moisturizer and foundation?

A: Technology has evolved to the point where there is not a lot of difference between a tinted moisturizer and a foundation. In the past, a foundation allowed you to better build coverage level. However, now with the advent of BB/CC/DD creams, most tinted moisturizers are great foundations. I personally love and use Laura Mercier's SPF 20 Tinted Foundation in Nude.

Avoid Piling on Foundation

It can clog your pores, and just frankly doesn’t look good. Instead, use a tinted moisturizer for the same effect; I like Laura Mercier’s Tinted Moisturizer Oil Free Broad Spectrum SPF 20.

Laura Mercier Tinted Foundation

It’s no secret that hydration is a necessity for healthy, glowing skin, that’s why Restorsea’s products are packed full of moisturizing capabilities to help reduce fine lines, even skin tone and improve skin elasticity.

When it comes to choosing make-up products though, the answer isn’t entirely clear.

After years of rigorous trial and error with other brands, I finally succumbed to Laura Mercier and purchased a tube of their Tinted Moisturizer; afterwards finally understanding why theirs was the bestselling in the market, well at least according to the company.

The product is a lightweight blend of skincare and makeup that gives coverage and, most importantly, doesn’t make me break out in hives (like EVERYTHING ELSE does!)
