Within the skin care category, anti-aging products are leading the industry with a growing consumer base and innovative solutions. However, when it comes to marketing anti-aging products, most companies focused their efforts on treatments designed specifically for women above 30 as opposed to twenty year olds. However, in the last five years consumer trends have changed and the skincare industry is seeing an increase in more anti-aging products targeted at women under 30. Why is this so?
Before, most cosmetic brands tended to shy away from targeting anti-aging products to young women assuming that wrinkles and aging skin were of no immediate concern. However, a New York Times article revealed otherwise, finding that women in their twenties undergo a significant amount of stress, lack of sleep and an active lifestyle. Younger women were not concerned so much with immediate corrective treatments, but rather in search of “preventative” ones that would help prolong signs of aging and wrinkles. In fact dermatologists recommend that young women take care of their skin early on when it can repair itself much quicker with little external help.
As younger women begin to change their skincare regimen by focusing on staving off the early signs of aging, we can expect to see more anti-aging solutions focused in on age distribution. No matter you age, at Restorsea we believe the best time to start taking care of your skin is always now!
