A Natural Way to Ageless Beauty

Restorsea Summer Soiree

Tuesday, June 18, 2013 10:33:03 AM America/New_York

A stylish sampling of Los Angeles tastemakers came out to Bungalow One at Chateau Marmont on Thursday, June 13th, to celebrate the launch of the Spring 2013 Restorsea products. Guests included local media, bloggers + social influencers and hair, makeup + fashion stylists. Attendees sipped champagne as they sampled and were educated about the products by Restorsea Founder and CEO Patti Pao, our chemist Ike Alabata and our team from BPCM and LaForce + Stevens. At the end of the night, each guest was delighted to find that they would be leaving with their favorite Restorsea products!

See the photos and some familiar faces below!

Chatting with Friends: Justine Bateman

Wednesday, September 18, 2013 8:00:51 AM America/New_York

Justine Bateman may be forty-seven, but she doesn’t let that stop her from continuing a higher education at the University of California Los Angeles. We caught up with her, chatting about her sophomore year, new blog, and surprisingly strong opinion on Apple TV.

Restorsea: What are your current 5 must-have items rights now?

Justine Bateman:

1.    Rejuvenating Day Cream

2.    Maybelline Cool Effects eye pencil (hard as hell to find anymore except online)

3.    My running shoes

4.    Rombauer Chardonnay

5.    Breaking Bad episodes. The best-directed TV on the air right now.

R: What is the craziest beauty remedy, product or service that you have tried?

J: Honey Body Treatment. It was fantastic.

R: What was the inspiration for your website?

J: A couple of my husband's work associates asked me why the hell I didn't have a blog about my college experience. I started GetACollegeLife just as a place to keep a personal diary of the process. I'm surprised at the big response to it. I'd thought the blog would be way too boring for anyone to pay much attention to.

R: What is your favorite local spot?

J: Doger Stadium

R: Who are your personal style and/or beauty icons?

J: Flat-chested 70's models and Carine Roitfeld.

R: What would you be doing if you weren’t creating content for your site?

J: You mean, if I weren't going to UCLA? Running Apple TV and turning it into something entirely different.

R: What are your favorite magazines or other online publications?

J: Circa (news app). I used to love, love fashion magazines, but I think they blew it when they caved into society's morbid obsession with "celebrities" and started replacing models with actresses in the photo spreads.

R: What are you most looking forward to over the next couple of months?

J: My sophomore year starting at UCLA.

R: What would your readers be surprised to find out about you?

J: I can turn my tongue upside down.

Justine Bateman

Justine Bateman & Patti PaoYou may recognize our friend Justine Bateman from her character, Mallory Keaton, on the 80’s smash hit Family Ties, from her production and consulting company, SECTION 5, or from her one-of-a-kind hand-knit clothing line, Justine Bateman Designs.

At 47, Justine is attending the University of California, Los Angeles to pursue her Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science and Digital Media Management. She is documenting her entire college experience in her blog, GetACollegeLife, where she also includes profiles of other women attending college who, like Justine, are years older than the "traditional college age." They are the Smarty Pants Women.

A Restorsea fan, Justine recently reached out to some of the Smarty Pants Women (SPWs), encouraging them to participate in the Restorsea 12-week challenge. Read more about the progress of the SPW testimonials here.

Restorsea Rejuvenating Day CreamAs Justine’s schedule is full of intense study sessions, college internships, Section5 consulting jobs, and time with her husband and kids, her beauty regime needs to be quick and effective. Some of Justine’s must-have beauty items include Restorsea Rejuvenating Day Cream and  Maybelline Cool Effects Eye Pencil (which she notes is, "...hard as hell to find anymore – except online!"). Read more on Justine’s favorite Restorsea products here.

Justine believes in a skin care regimen that doesn’t erase the personality and experience built into her skin, but rather one that restores her natural look. In regards to her face, Justine explains, "I don’t want to change it – I just want to take care of it!" Read more on our interview with Justine here.
