We were surprised to hear about a new smartphone app that uses facial recognition software to provide beauty statistics, helping to evaluate your skin’s personal needs and offer suggestions for skincare products.

After taking a photo of your face, the app generates personal “beauty numbers” for different categories and images that highlight signs of aging, and compare results with others in the same age group.

You’ll also receive a side-by-side projection of how your skin could look if you follow the suggested regimen and product use. Common suggestions include sleeping on silk pillowcases to avoid wrinkles and eating potassium rich foods to decrease pigmentation.

My Own will even track your progress so you can see how the changes to your lifestyle affect the health and appearance of your skin.

If you’re ready to take on your beauty aging number, you can download the app from the iTunes store and Google Play.
