Have you ever been stuck in a storm and wished you could turn it off? Or perhaps delay the rain until you were safely inside? If you live in New York, I’m positive you have.

The new Rain Room exhibit at the Museum of Modern Art (part of EXPO 1: New York) gives visitors that power, with a field of falling water that pauses wherever a human body is detected.

The exhibit is a great comment on the interaction of urban development and the natural world, as well as the steps we can take through technology to create a more sustainable environment. It’s also a little fun to pretend you’re Storm from X-men.
