From now until the end of September, experience the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum as you never have before.
Transformed under the direction of artist James Turrell, the contemporary arts institution houses its most large-scale installation to date: Aten Reign, which fills the Guggenheim rotunda with shifting layers of natural and artificial light.
The rest of the museum has been stripped of its permanent classics and, instead features selected pieces from Turrell’s career.
The show, Turrell’s first in New York since 1980, is a beautiful and warming experience, much like seeing an old friend.
