Salad may seem easy in theory, but—just like dating in New York—a solid, dependable one is hard to find.
During the day time I get my greenery on at Organic Avenue (of course), but for a dinner on the town, I like to go downtown to GOBO in the Village. There’s also a location near my apartment in the Upper East Side for when I’m feeling a bit less commutable.
The country kitchen offers a very eco-friendly mix of exciting vegetarian global cuisine. I’m obsessed with their Chopped Romaine Salad with smoked tofu and almonds; it’s a great pairing to the restaurant’s seitan skewers with green tea mustard sauce.
Just please no tomatoes or avocados on the greens for me!
