[caption id="attachment_298" align="alignright" width="162"] How cool is this elevator?[/caption] As we were gearing up for our big Key Opinion Leader mailing in August, – in which we plan to send 1,000+ sets of product to influential designers, actresses, stylists, etc – we were trying to figure out the logistics of assembling, packing, and shipping our product efficiently and effectively. Luckily, Stephanie, our very own Office Administrator, suggested that we consider talking to her brother, Dan Shalofsky, who conveniently is in the fulfillment business. Specifically, Dan is the senior production manager at Century Direct, a packaging and shipping company located in Long Island City, Queens. It was a no-brainer; shortly thereafter, the team hopped in Laurie’s Shrek-mobile (a two door forest green Honda Civic) and went to Century Direct. We got a tour of the 85,000-square-foot facility in which the company prints, packages, stores, and mails direct marketing materials to individuals all over the country. Similarly, Century Direct will assemble, store, and ship our Key Opinion Leader mailing materials, along with other gifts we will be giving at various events. Another perk of the field trip: The building also had the biggest and most beautiful elevator we've ever seen.
