You know how we feel about tanning. While we value glowing, radiant skin, we’re all about achieving it in a healthy and natural way, so we try to stay well clear of direct (not to mention unnatural) exposure to UVA and UVB rays!
Now, according to a recent announcement from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), avoiding tanning beds may be easier than in the past.
The FDA has plans to begin reclassifying sunbeds from low-risk to moderate-risk products, which means they will need to be cleared by their taskforce before being allowed onto the market.
These items will also be required to carry stronger warning labels under new regulations proposed by the agency, which has also officially recommended that the machines not be used by people under the age of 18.
Hopefully these steps will be used as a deterrent against dangerous skincare practices!
