Asian-fusion may seem overplayed, but I guarantee you it's alive and kicking at Annisa in the West Village (NYC).

Here, humbled in a perfectly charming new-American decor, famed chef Anita Lo serves the best soup dumplings outside of Shanghai, subtly sharpened with techniques from classic French cuisine.

The restaurant, which means 'women' in Arabic, also boasts a sophisticated wine menu that honors women by mostly offering selections produced by female vintners or vineyard owners.
