All this winter weather has me reminiscing on my recent vacation to Hawaii, so I thought I'd share three highlights from my trip:

1) Big Island Volcano Tour - You won't see flowing lava during the day tour, but you will see beautiful waterfalls, Japanase gardens and lava fields, which leads me to...

2) Flowing lava fields - Seeing these requires a four-hour hike. You'll see molten lava flowing through the ground, and be prepared: rubber soled shoes will melt before your eyes - you are, after all, literally walking over hot coals for hours.

3) The Road to Hana - An eleven-hour journey around the Haleakala Crater featuring 617 curves and 54 one-lane bridges." While gorgeous, the road to Hana is extremely winding (and often one-way despite two-way traffic!). You'll see TONS of waterfalls - I think I stopped counting at 100...

There are plenty more memories where those came from, but I can't spend too much time daydreaming...

XOX,
