We know the holidays are over, but that doesn’t mean we’re not still in the mood for festive winter treats! Patti’s cranberry chutney is letting us extend our favorite time of year well into the beginning of 2014. Spread it on toast, add some to a sandwich or eat it with a spoon – the possibilities are endless!

 

1 lb cranberries

1 cup tart dried cherries

1 1/3 cup sugar

1 ½ teaspoon ginger

1 teaspoon cinnamon

¼ teaspoon cloves

1 cup water

1 cup minced onion

1 cup minced celery

1 apple minced

 

Cook cranberries, dried cherries, sugar, ginger, cinnamon, clove and water over medium heat for 15 minutes. Stir in remaining ingredients.  Jar (I like Mason Bell Jars) and chill.
