Kelley Lilien cannot be described in one word.  She’s a graphic design and creative direction guru with one of the most unique and colorful blogs around. We were privileged enough to interview her about her life, blog, interests and beauty must-haves.

Restorsea: What are your current 5 beauty must-have items rights now?

Kelley: On the daily I try to keep it pretty simple. My go-tos are Clarisonic + Restorsea Reviving Cleanser / Day cream + EOS Organic Lip Balm + Bobbi Brown Bronzing Powder + Urban Decay Big Fatty Mascara

R: What is the craziest beauty remedy, product or service that you have tried?

K: I let my love for beer really get to my head (literally). After shampooing, I poured a bottle of beer over my hair. The acidity, believe it or not, helps remove all that wonderful, built up residue that we can't quite see…or in my case, can. It swells the hair shaft + plumps the cuticle--just make sure it's a rich beer with high yeast content!

R: What was the inspiration for your website?

K: Uncaging the beast within, the Mrs. Lilien blog is truly a mirrored reflection of what lives inside my head. I can't make this kind of stuff up, and sometimes I need to tame it prior to publishing.

R: What is your favorite local spot?

K: Coronado Beach…455 paces from my front door step. It's my zen spot + a place in which my children + I frequent / frolic together.

R: Who are your personal style and/or beauty icons?

K: Babe Paley, Lee Radziwill + Veruschka

R: What would you be doing if you weren’t creating content for your site?

K: Taking a world tour on my yacht. [Editor’s note: wait do you really have a yacht? If so, can we come over?]

R: What are your favorite magazines or other online publications?

K: Vanity Fair, Babe Walker + Pinterest

R: What are you most looking forward to over the next couple of months?

K: The grand reveal of my site's new face--she's going under the kinfe... aka: reconstructive blog surgery.

R: What would your readers be surprised to find out about you?

K: I exercise hermet-like tendencies and am an amazing parallel parker.
